I bought this set of play food for my son’s Inside/Outside kitchen. This is not a bad playset of food. I strongly suggest that it be used by children 3 and older who know better not to put these in their mouths. Most playfood is on the small side, works better with the kitchens, but there are larger ones out there. I thought the lobster tails were strange, but quite different. My son ‘cooked’ the lobster tail and peas the other night in his play kitchen for my dinner. There is a ton of canned foods, fruit, vegetables, pizza, donuts, pies, cartons of drinks, etc. in this kit. So far it has been almost a week and it is still holding up to my 3 year old’s play. Not bad at all.

I got this for my daughter to go with her kitchen xmas 2005. She as 2.5 years old at the time. I find the food to be nice, sort of small, though, which is good because our kitchen doesn’t have that much actual space to put food in it. The pieces could be considered a choking hazard, but for some reason, my daughter knows not to put them in her mouth and I’ve never seen her do it. A few pieces got bent up, but it’s just a little orange, so I really don’t care. The boxes are flimsy, and she has ruined a few of them. I stuffed some (not done yet), with newspaper and sealed the openings with packing tape. They can still be crushed, but they are a lot more sturdy. Hope that helps. I have other food brands and they are better, (The food that came with her fisher price shopping cart) but the cardboard is still the same. Overall, They’re just toys and they are just little kids. I think this is a pretty good deal for the money.

For you perspective buyers who are reading the reviews…The box states that the food play set is for ages 3 and up. If you have a gentle 2 – 2 1/2 year old or a child who doesn’t chew on everything, you’ll be fine and your kid(s) will have lots of fun using this food with a shopping cart and/or kitchen.

I like this toy but I just bought one for a birthday party today at Toys-r-us and paid $16.00. I don’t know what the people at Amazon are thinking but their inflation of toy prices this year is rediculas. Just check out the drop and roll dinosaur. It’s a $40 toy and they want $200!!!! They are crazy!!!
